The Bible's account of Noah, the
ark, and the Genesis flood states that the ark came to rest
on the “mountains of rrt” where “rrt” has been understood and
translated “Urartu” or later “Ararat” and during Armenian times
even “Armenia” itself (KJV 2 Kings 19:37, Isaiah 37:38).
There are no vowels in the original Hebrew text of “rrt”.From Assyrian texts, we prefer Urartu that
is known to have existed from at least the late 13th century
BC to the 9th century BC as a loose federation of tribes in the
highlands, and then as a kingdom until the Medes destroyed them in
585 B.C.
