According to an Arabic/English
dictionary, Judi (Cudi in Turkish) “is derived from the Greek
name Gordayi [Gorduene], the name of the Armenian mountains,” which
again does not specify one particular mountain but is a region of
the southern mountains of former Urartu
If this dictionary is correct, then there is
no basis for Mount Cudi being “the” mountain of Noah at all
Other Arab scholars have said that
Judi in Arabic derives from “the heights,” which again could be
any heights rather than specifically Mount Cudi
