•“Relocation of the Ark From Mount Cudi to Mount
Ararat
The Ark moved northward from Mount Cudi (Iraqi border) to Mount Ararat in the popular belief some time around the twelfth or thirteenth century, and has stayed there ever since. Some possible ‘educated guesses’ why this happened are put forth by Bailey; these include the shrinking of the ancient kingdom of Urartu, later called
Armenia, to only its northern part,
which no longer included
Mount Cudi, but was instead overshadowed by the majestic Mount Ararat.”
